Vibration Sensitivity
Snakes have been living even before man could place his first step on this planet, these creatures have been living even before the dinosaurs could evolve and roam this planet. So there surely is something even more that what we just think of this creature. Most of us just think of them as venomous creatures that just go on biting and injection venom on while hunting down their prey, but that’s not all. There is surely something more about them what we still don’t know about and this could be cited the greatest reason for their existence on earth. Even after the dinosaurs have left and gone. But one may think as to what makes them those perfect hunters and masters of evolution.
So here is what I found out, these snakes actually came on land after a very long time, and there are many such reports and findings that their ancestors used to swim in those deep oceans and seas of prehistoric times. But gradually they started coming on land, and this is what we call evolution. They had to develop certain traits of other features that were deadly so that they could ensure their survival on land. So this is how they develop the venom and their other sensory features that would help them ensure their survival on land.
So this is where they score above others animals and reptiles that could not make it to the modern day world. They have excellent sensory habits and can even sense a prey or victim that may be a mile away from them. This is because they have ears, though they are not so visible but still they are in the form of pits that are behind their backs. So this is what can make them feel the vibration that they prey seems to make while they walk on the ground looking out for some green pastures or even other smaller reptiles.
These features of vibration are mainly seen in desert snakes where the question of life and death seems to be even more important than other habitats all around this planet. This is because in the tropical rain forest there is an abundance of food, so there the snakes have developed heat sensory organs. But the same is not with those deserts snakes. So that is the reason why they have to develop themselves into work others feautes besides the venom, such as the vibration sensitivity. One can see them in rattle snakes and puff adder, as well as the side winding snakes.
