Snake Oil
Snake oil is a herbal oil that is made from the Chinese water snakes, this is mostly used for all those ailments that do not get treated by the usual medical practice. Actually this practice was started in the U.S and the U.K during the early ‘90s when these snake oil salesmen used to sell silver bullet cures to all those who were suffering from unknown ailments that were not being cured. But the origins of the snake oil can be traced back to china where it’s still being used till date. This oil is now used to treat arthritis and other bone and muscle ailments.
There are many benefits that the snake oil can give us, since they are made from those Chinese water snakes and this oil is found all over in china and one can easy get them in any medical or pharmaceutical drug stores. There are many essential elements that the snake oil consists of; it has fatty acids that help in reducing inflammation. There are other snake oil elements that are there apart from the traditional Chinese snake oil but they are not as good as the original ones. The rattle snake oil is also easily available in the U.S but they have only one third of the fatty acid elements that the Chinese snake oil does.
Traditionally snake oil was used a remedy to heal joint pain, this was because it had many other essential properties that could heal and cure any bone or joint pain. This oil was called the “Sheyou” in china and was used to heal other bone ailments such as the Rheumatoid, bursitis, and other similar conditions. The reason for its widespread popularity and demand is because of its high content of fatty acids as well as Eicosapentaenoic acids as compared to other snake oils that are also available.
This snake oil has not only played pivotal in china but also in ancient Egypt where this snake oil was mixed with other animal fat such as the crocodile, the hippopotamus, and the Desert Tomcat. This was because these ancient Egyptians believed that this would add on to the medicinal properties of the snake oil and give instant effects. Some of them even believed that the snake oil could cure the problem of baldness and hair loss and again restore the growing capacity of the hair.
