Snake Food
Hmmm! This would be the most difficult issue to deal with for all those who are taming snakes as pets. This is because they are not ordinary pet like those cats and rabbits. They are extraordinary pets that are meant only for extraordinary people like me. What say? This could be the most amazing pet experience for all those who decide to walk a different path.
Taming or petting a snake would be a good idea, I would not say a very good idea but ya something unique and different. But there are some points that should be take care of, before you pet them. First of all try and consult an expert on which type of snake you need to move on with. Also make sure that you check the authenticity of the expert before you take any further step. Remember the snake that you tame would determine the food and the diet of the snake. A heavy snake as the boa or the python would be good choice but they would also require large diet at regular periods. If not then I am sure you would be the first in your neighborhood to have a domestic snake bite.
But on the contrary a rat snake or a garter snake would obviously eat less, thereby reducing your bills as well as reducing your tension that one day it may not eat you itself. So the choice of the snake would determine the diet, this is what I said before.
On the other hand if you wish to tame a rattle snake or any venomous snake, though not a good idea then a rodent every day would do the needful. For a large rodent, not as large like the bandicoot or the capybara, would do them good for even 2 or three days. But I would prefer the non venomous snake since they don’t seem to be so aggressive and wild as compared to other snakes that are venomous.
Now this was all about those snakes that are in captivity that we were talking all this time, but those who are living in the wild usually feed on other reptiles and other animals such as rodents and other birds. They usually hunt during the night time, when their victims are usually asleep. This is because, they can see clearly due to the thermal imaging system that is caused because of their pits that are located below their tongues.
